Charlene

‘Tis almost a year since darkness crept
Beyond the flickering candle light
No gentle shadows swayed or danced
To relieve this gnawing sense of loss

Darkness binds all memories
Of sun filled days of seasons past
Of your laughter tossed upon the wind
At that final sunset of your life

My heart lays strewn
Across our Universe of stars
Saddened and less then it was
Diminished by death’s ugly truth

I will miss you through my days
Your name winding through my memories
A rainbow filled with peace and calm
But yet the bitter, lonely, tears will come

Letting my remorse slowly ebb
Like tides on a rock strewn coast
Hoping to be touched by a healing sunrise
As I was once touched by your love

Rest well my dear sister, rest well...
